For this reason, from the very beginning of Oakywood's activity, we have tried to step by step implement eco-solutions and contribute to the good of nature. Working on maintaining sustainable standards and ecological production is crucial for us.
GIVING BACK TO MOTHER NATURE
Our wood comes from sustainable sources from Europe and the USA and is certified. However, we felt in our hearts that it wasn’t enough, that we haven’t been giving enough to mother nature. That is why, together with the One Tree Planted organization, we plant one tree for each product purchased!

MEANING OF TREES
Are you aware of how important trees are to all of us? Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.
They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
One Tree Planted we partner with, is a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation. Founded in 2014, they have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, they now work with awesome reforestations partners in many countries who help them get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.
Depending on the project, their partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground. Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival. There is a possibility to choose which project you want to get involved into. One Tree Planted runs reforestation projects in North America, South America, Asia and Africa.
Oakywood recently planted 28 850 trees in Amazon Rainforest & 14 425 trees in Romania!
We always carefully choose the places we want to support with the One Tree Planted. Our goal is to help wisely - that is why we particularly try to reforest places that have recently struggled with natural disasters.
One of the latest projects we had the opportunity to participate in was tree planting in California. Severe drought and bark beetle infestation have resulted in a record-breaking wildfire season, which has consumed close to 3 million acres.
Together with One Tree Planted, we managed to restore at least a substitute of what the California forests were before.
